Lord Henry and his son Alex have just returned from a successful trip to the United States promoting Slane Castle Irish Whiskey in both in Florida and Massachusetts. The Whiskey will be distributed in several other states over the coming months,  Lord Henry and Alex did a successful bottle signing in "Dubbs Liquor Store" in Mansfield, Mass. As well as visiting several other outlets. It is likely that Lord Henry and Alex will return to the States in the near future.

Plans are afoot for Slane 2010 !

Bottle signing in the US.

Lord Henry, accompanied by his wife Lady Iona, have just returned from their second successful trip this year to the United States, promoting Slane Castle Irish Whiskey in Connecticut and Florida.  Lord Henry did a successful bottle signing in Amity Wine & Spirits in New Haven and also visited Anna Liffeys Bar, and met Patrick Mansfield the owner, who comes originally from Waterford.  In Florida he was met by his son Alex, who had been visiting bars and outlets in the Boston area and they then called into several outlets in the West Palm Beach vicinity.  They ended their visit by calling into O'Sheas's on Clematis Street in West Palm Beach where they met owner Maurice Costigan.

Slane Castle Open Day

 Wedding Co-ordinator Rhonda De Paor would like to congratulate all the recently engaged couples in Ireland.

 During this festive season more couples get engaged over Christmas, than any other time of the year. After the engagement couples will begin their planning process for their big day. Of course one of the most important element's for a wedding is finding the perfect Venue .  Here at Slane Castle we offer exclusive use of the entire Castle for your Big day. If you are looking for a private, elegant and impressive venue, you needn't look much further than Slane Castle.

 On Sunday January 24th 2010, we are hosting an open day, by appointment only, for prospective wedding couples to come view the facilities at Slane Castle. The Castle will be set up as it would be for a wedding, and we will have a number of our preferred suppliers in attendance, such as our caterer's, Florist and photographer. Also the renowned Bridal designer  Kathy De Stafford will have her stunning 2010 collection on display and Brides can even try on a few of her stylish bridal gowns.

Slane Castle is currently offering accommodation and rental discounts for 2010 wedding bookings, so please contact Rhonda, if you would like to schedule an appointment for the open day.

Henry Mount Charles to be honoured with the Industry Award at the 2010 Meteor Awards

News announced on Friday 22nd of January that Henry Mount Charles is to be honoured with the prestigious Meteor Industry Award, at the 2010 Meteor Awards in Dublin this February.

The award is in acknowledgement of his outstanding contribution to the Irish Music Industry for nearly 30 years. Slane Castle is renowned worldwide for its summer events. Since 1981, Slane has hosted some of Ireland's largest outdoor concerts featuring the world's greatest live performers including U2,Rolling Stones, Madonna, Bob Dylan, Red Hot Chili peppers, Robbie Williams and Oasis.

Henry, who is currently in America promoting the Slane Castle Whiskey, was thrilled with the award and said he is very much looking forward to the event.

During this interview on RTE's 2FM, Henry declined to confirm details about a 2010 Slane Castle concert, but did indicate there is a chance of a "red hot performance".... So watch this space!

May 29th 2010

We are delighted to announce Slane Castle is set to host the " Alive Outside" Triathlon Event this coming May 29th 2010.

 For years Lord Henry Mount Charles has been hosting outdoor concerts , with world renowned acts  and now he is delighted to host the first ever Triathlon event held at Slane Castle.

Starting with a 750m swim in the River Boyne, entering and exiting the water from just below the embankment of the castle.  Participants will swim 375m up river and turn around with a 375m down river swim before exiting the river. The transition zone will be in the grassy lawns, while the bike route will take you down the castle driveway, out the gates and onto a challenging 23km route (2 loops) on the R163 and N51.

Let's hope the good weather keeps up and we wish all participants the very best of luck.

Whiskey News

Lord Henry and his son Alex will be in New York in early May for the launch of Slane Castle Irish Whisky in the New York market. The official launch is set to be held in the aptly named Slane Public House! This follows on from a recent trip that Lord Henry made to Massachusetts, Connecticut and Florida.

The Launch in Slane Public House is set to be an exciting evening.

Concert News

Lord Henry recently announced there will be no Slane Castle concert this year, so attention is now focused on the 30th Anniversary of Slane Castle Concerts in Summer of 2011.

SLANE ROCKS NYC!

Celebration of the launch of Slane Castle Irish Whiskey

 

Slane Castle Irish Whiskey made its debut in New York on Friday, May 7th at Slane Public House on MacDougal Street in Greenwich Village. Lord Henry Mount Charles, 8th Marquess Conyngham hosted this exciting event where celebrities, VIP guests and media enjoyed this unique spirit and special Slane cocktails created by his son, Lord Alex Mount Charles.

 

There is a very special connection between Slane Public House and the Mount Charles family. The owner of the bar, Glenda McGovern was Lord Henry's neighbor when she was a child which added to the magic of the event. Adam Clayton, U2  was also in attendance.

 

Pre Launched Slane Castle Irish Whiskey was enjoyed at the American Ireland Fund Dinner on May 6th where Bono was guest speaker along with Bill Clinton, Mayor Bloomberg, Gabriel Byrne and 1,300 members of the Irish-American business, political and arts communities. Slane Castle was the only Whiskey available on the night and was very well received.

Lord Alex Mount Charles has just returned from another successful trip to New York, where he joined the owners of Ulysses Bar, who were celebrating their 7th anniversary.  Slane Castle Irish Whiskey will now also be available at one of New York’s top steak houses Del Frisco’s.
